Cables & Connectors
There are a few quirks to this laptop as IBM has used some standard connectors in non-standard ways. The most notable is the PCMCIA interface for the HDD. The hard drive caddy can be 3D printed if it breaks, but the custom ribbon connector that takes a 44pin IDE interface to the proprietary PCMCIA connector is not something you’ll be able to find.

A few things to note
The adapter seems to use the middle of the PCMCIA pins while doubling up on 5V+ and Ground pins in some areas, but it’s not all entirely logical so please follow the diagram carefully and check it for accuracy before connecting any hard drives!
